The facility is a two-story design with apparatus bays and an off-street parking area.  The two-story portion of the building will include first floor office space, second floor dormitory, kitchen and related areas.    The building design will consist of 10,000 square feet of building footprint and 6,000 square feet of second story occupied space.  The apparatus bays will be designed to be a pull-through station, utilizing both 32nd and 33rd Streets.  The parking area will hold approximately 16 standard vehicles and include consideration for increased water run-off.   The structural system will be concrete masonry with pre-engineered trusses.  The majority of the exterior cladding will be brick veneer and fiber cement siding.  A unique feature of the facility will be two sliding poles from the dormitory area to the apparatus bays.


This new station will be located on Bull Street off 32nd Street and 33rd Street and will replace the fire station located at 6 West Henry Street.  The Henry Street Station #5 was built in 1936 and has been in the forefront of protecting many of Savannah’s historic buildings and history.
